To start, I've played card games for literally as long as I can remember (given, that's only from about last Tuesday, but the point still stands). I played Yu-Gi-Oh! since I was in daycare as a kid and picked up Cardfight!! Vanguard around the time of its English release. In 2017, I picked up Futurecard Buddyfight. I've also tried Magic a couple of times and Force of Will. While I respect both and think they're well designed games, they haven't held my interest so much. I haven't held on to Magic because I'm a big weeb when it comes to art preference and I quit Force of Will due to locals requiring me to get home at midnight and the cards being a bit hard to find. I also dabble in Shadowverse a bit.
In terms of my confidence in my main 3 games, Buddyfight is my wheelhouse at this point. Vanguard's more or less nonexistent in my life beyond the fact that I run a Discord server that's dedicated to it. Yu-Gi-Oh! is on hiatus due to my locals being largely dead.
For mains in each game as of writing:
- Vanguard: Nova Grappler (I'm basically on a hiatus until V-EB02 releases and I can play Dimension Police)
- Buddyfight: Magic World (Shadow Shades, Garga, Mystic Knights) and Dragon World (casual Garga, Dragonblood Sect)
- Yu-Gi-Oh!: When I pick up a deck, I usually start with Dinosaurs.
